From Momentum to Presence

Hi everyone, I’m Danny.

Meditation has become a really important part of my life, and I’m still exploring different ways to meditate, become present and understand what presence means for me.

My mantra this year has been, “Move from presence, not momentum.” I’m learning to create my own space, because when I create that space, I allow my presence to be.

Recently, my focus has turned more inward: understanding myself, noticing my thoughts and reactions, and learning to create a gap between thought and response.

Alongside my main work, I’m passionate about a side project focused on helping others find their own sense of presence.

I love the journey and I’m always excited to explore new ideas, new experiences, and new ways of understanding both everything and nothing. I’m really looking forward to learning, sharing and connecting with the Sangha.

The Softening...

Greetings. My name is Corey, and I live in the Western North Carolina mountains, just a few miles from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. I share that sacred space with my husband of 24 years and my two dogs, Harvey and Lewis. My meditation is complemented by my yoga, Reiki (practitioner), and the outdoors. In my obligated time, I have been a professor of social justice and qualitative research for over 25 years, but now I am very much looking forward to learning from all of you.
